Makka Masjid - Anna Salai 

Makka Masjid is one of he important mosques in Chennai city. Hundreds of worshippers can be accommodated in this mosque at a time. This mosque is situated behind Baha Hasarth Syed Moosa Hadari Darga, 822 Anna Salai, Chennai – 600002. 





Masjid Mamoor - Muthialpet 

This is a mosque sacred to Muslims living in Mannady area in Chennai. It was first built in 18th century. Later it was reconstructed in granite by the Nawab of Arcot’s family in the late 19th century. Recent architectural additions are the unique two-pillar supports and the outer walls. Over five thousand worshippers can be accommodated in this mosque at a time. Location at Angappan Naicken Street, Muthialpet, Chennai - 600001.


The Grand Mosque - Triplicane 

This Grand Mosque in Red Stone was built by Nawab Wallajah - Mohamed Au, Grand Father of the present incumbent of Ansir Mahal and the Prince if Arcot. In surrounding area maximum number of Muslim peoples were living here. This is supposed to be bigger than Delhi Juma Masjid and is situated in Triplicane, Chennai - 600 005. 


Thousand Lights Mosque - Thousan Lights 

This Mosque is situated in the heart of city and facing with heavy traffic and busiest place in chennai. This is a beautiful cream-colored, multi-domed mosque with walls bearing recently- painted sayings from the Holy Koran. It stands at the junction of Mount Road and Peters Road in an area known as Ayiramvilakku, which derives its name from the ancient practice of profusely lighting this triangular wedge of hallowed Muslim buildings. The original mosque was constructed here by Nawab Umdat-ul-Umrah in 1800 for lie assemblage of Shias during Muharram mourning. Sydenhams Rd, Chennai - 600 006.


Anna Salai Darga 

Around 450 years hack here lived a Muslim Saint known as Baba Hazrath Seyed Moosa Kadiri who preached Universal Brother-hood. His final resting place at Anna Salai, Chennai attracts people of all faith from all walks of life. 



Hazrat Baba Darga - Chepauk 

This Muslim Saint Hazarat Baba’s real name was Hazrath Dastageer Sahib Baba . It is nearly 300 years since his demise. He had fore seen his death and had told his disciples not to conduct the Janaza (Funeral) prayers under any other Imam. Baffled disciples were much delighted when the Baba himself appeared and dis-appeared after conducting his own Janaza prayer. Located at 83, Dr. Natesan Road. Chennai 600 005. 


Mohammed Ismail Sahib 

Reverently called by all the people as Quaid-E-Millath was Born on 5-6-1896 at Pettai. Tirunelveli Dist. Lie became the Madras Presidency President of Indian Union Muslim League in 1945 and rose to the level of All India President in 1948. He made his mark as an excellent Parliamentarian first as the member of the Legislative Assembly and later as member of Parliament He died on 5-4-1972 and was laid to rest in the Triplicane Grand Mosque Campus. 

Moti Baba Darga - Egmore 

Popularly known as Moti Baba Darga’ This is the final resting place of Muslim Saint Khaja Qutub Seyed Gulam Dasthagir Moti Baba, A Hymn composed in his honour says he was bom in Yemen brought up in Nagapattinam, became a friend of Qazi and breathed his last in Chennai in 1959. Location : 422, Pantheon Salai, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008. 

Quadri Baba Darga - Triplicane 

An inscription in this Darga says ‘Seyed Baba Quadri Sha 1793 - Hazaraj Rabbani Baba Shah Quadri - 1793 Maqam’ except this there isn’t much information about this much revered Muslim saint fondly called by people a Quadri Baba. Simple and small this darga under the shady trunks of an old tree attracts people from all walks of life. Location Tamilnadu Bharath Scouts Complex, Vencock Park, Triplicane, Chennai - 600 005. 
Thameem Ansari Baba Darga 

A devoted follower of the words and deeds of Prophet. Mohamed was born in Medina. Soon after his demise, and as per his last wish, his mortal remains were put in a coffin and immersed in the sea. However, it reached the shores of Kovalam beach. Thus came into being the holy shrine of the muslim Saint Thameem Ansari Baha. The first Thursday after full moon clay is observed as a day of devotion. The Durgah is open from 5.00 a.m to 10.00 p.m.
